Barrow Centre benefits from Screwfix support

CDA’s Barrow Centre has been undergoing some much needed refurbishment over the past few months.  A £30,000+ programme was launched earlier in the year with the aim of providing new toilets and kitchen, a new heating system, changes to the layout of the Club Room, redecorating and new carpeting and furnishings.  We were delighted to find out last week that the Screwfix Foundation is to support this work with a wonderful £5,000 donation.

CDA’s Appeals Director, Ian Wilson said that, “A complete refurbishment will give the Barrow Centre a much enhanced life and also give the Deaf community what they most require.  We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of many organisations who have supported the refurbishment and this news from the Screwfix Foundation enables us to complete the work in full.”  Local Chairman Kenneth Lippett echoed this, saying “A huge thanks to the Screwfix Foundation for supporting Barrow Deaf Club”.
