Barrow Deaf Centre Re-opening

On the 28th October 2017 the refurbished Deaf Centre at 217 Duke Street in Barrow was officially re-opened. The Mayor of Barrow, Councillor Tony Callister, accompanied by his wife Janice unveiled a plaque to mark the occasion. He complimented the organisation saying, “The building is a fresh and stylish place to meet and I am sure it will be an excellent focal point. Janice and myself were very honoured with the warm welcome given to us today.”
Speeches were also given by the Chairman of Barrow Deaf Club, Kenneth Lippett and the CEO of Cumbria Deaf Association, John Brennan who said that we were very grateful to the organisations that had helped fund the improvements.

Refreshments were provided and a tour of the new facilities which are available to hire for appropriate groups in the future.
