David Marsh Obituary

David Marsh

David Marsh 28/12/1961 – 29/10/ 2020

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to a member of the Deaf community.

David passed away peacefully at a Kendal Care Home on 29th September 2020 – he is survived by his wife Nicola, daughter Jane, his mother Jean and brother, Paul.

David loved football, fell walking, Deaf indoor games (darts, snooker, etc.) competitions; and volunteering with committees. He was well respected for his work running the local Kendal Deaf club.

David had a fierce competitive streak and would strive to achieve what he put his mind to. He achieved his goal of visiting 92 football grounds in England and Wales.

David has supported the Deaf community organizing sports and social events for around 40 years. He also worked with Gilbert, Gilkes, Gordon Ltd (GGG) straight after he left school in 1979 – 41 years of steady employment.

Many people say that David was a quiet man but those that knew him at school remember some good laughs.

David was married for almost 28 years and very much loved his wife Nicola, and his daughter, Jane. He will be missed by all who knew him.
