Keswick Climbing Wall Trip

On Sunday 12th November 12 of us went to Keswick Climbing wall for a full day of adventure. The day was very cold so we were all kitted out in warm waterproof jackets. The first stop was the high ropes, so fitted with harnesses we took the 5 minute walk into the woods to climb among the trees and descend via the zip wire. This left us ready for our lunch and a little warm up. After lunch we started with orienteering – racing round in teams to see who would be first to find the letters. This was followed by some archery where some of the children even managed a bullseye – well done!! To finish the day off we had a go on the climbing wall and a game in the bouldering section.
Everyone looked worn out when parents came to collect them but I think they had all had a fantastic time.
Thank you to the instructors who helped us enjoy our day and thank you to the Henry Smith charity for supporting this activity financially. The children overcame obstacles, made new friends and had to work as a team. The joy of achievement as they reached the top of the climbing wall or followed the map to successfully obtain the letters was written all over their faces.
